Depending on how you want to count them, Lynne and Peter have one, two, or three
kids. I know this sounds confusing, but it's true.
The solid member of the kid-count-club is William. William is Peter's
son from his first marriage, and he lives with Lynne-Mom and his Daddy.
William is a
high
school and college student now. Heading into his junior year of high school,
he's passed his college level exams for math and english and is eligible for Washington State's Running
Start program, which allows him to take college-level classes while
earning high-school credit as well.
William enjoys computer games, reading, computers, science and math,
playing multi-player computer games, and figuring out how things work. William
enjoys using his creative problem-solving skills, too. One day he asked if
he could have some chocolate
chips, and Peter told him "Yes, one spoonful." Ten minutes of
careful stacking and arranging later he had the largest number of chocolate
chips ever arranged on a spoon.
Callista is Peter's oldest child. She lives in Riverside, California
and is working as
a
massage therapist while studying for her degree in physical therapy. In addition to giving people massages, Callista loves
animals, and has had pets that range from a small, eight-legged tarantula
to a huge (17') legless snake. Callista also enjoys SCA
events (the picture is of her at an SCA event in "garb"), reading, and
is a movie buff.
All grown up now, Callista doesn't live with Lynne and Peter, but still comes on the
annual family vacation trips and usually joins us for Christmas and other important
family events, so you can count her in on the "Kid Club" or
not.
The Kid Club gets more complicated when we add Callista's half-sister
Summer into the mix. Summer has never never lived with Lynne or
Peter, but
from her early childhood until she went to college you
couldn't separate her from her sister.
They came as a package deal, so Summer's been on all
Peter's family vacations and almost all our other family events, too. You
could call Summer "the daughter Peter never had!"
Summer is also a massage therapist, but has discovered her passion in
backstage production work. She enjoys working with stage lighting and sound,
but most of all she likes to blow things up. She earned a pyrotechnics
license in 2005 and spends many days setting up professional fireworks
displays followed by watching several days work blow up overnight.
